john marin
I love the way he abstracts and his line quality

Hernan Bas- I love the paint aplication

Jenny Holzer- u
ninhibited and powerful use of text.
Sean Landers _ I love the candidness and brutal honesty. It is so hard for me to expose myself

Barbra Kruger- Powerful use of image and text

Lesley Dill - Interesting use of text. Very captivating

Lesley Dill- I love the way she incorporates text

Clarence Morgan- I like the use of mixed media here. Its graphite, acrylic and ink on panel. In person its really detailed and interesting
ALEX KANDEVSKY! Im in love. I love his brushstrokes and the way he uses paint. His paintings are luring . I want to paint like him someday

njideka akunyili- This piece is incredible in person. The use of photocopies as layers is amazing. She is able to make sure the values in the photocopies are appropriate. I love how she colors some parts solid and others are photocopies.
This piece is incredible in person. From far away it draws you in. Shapes are carefully abstract and rendered simultaneously. Getting closer, you see there are beautiful faces hidden in the color
I was really impressed by Jennifer Barlett s work. I love the way she uses color. In blocks up close but very readable far away

Both of these works are by  Laura Jacobson. They are inspired by MRI s. The one on top I really enjoy the 3 dimensionality of as well as the textures. It is hard for your eye to find a resting place because it continually moves you around. Each  texture is more interesting than the last.

The bottom piece I really like because it is representivie of Brains but they are seen from an interesting angle and I like the series as a whole. they are all very unique and although she uses the same color palette its not boring

Denise Philipbar- I like the movement and the overlapping of line without getting lost in it/.
margery amdur- I love the juxposition of colors and textures here
margery amdur- I love the complexity of this piece.
I love the patterns within the actual paint and the use of materials and how it almost looks microscopic
Lorriane Glesner- I love the layering and the transparency.
Gerhard Ritcher- I love the spontaneity of this and the mixing of materials.
Gerhard Ritcher- I love the soft texture and how the colors still hold their integrity although they are overlapping

Cecily Brown- i like the abstraction of the form here.

Cecily Brown- The textures are wonderful. I really enjoy seeing it in black and white as well.
Cecily Brown- I like the mystery involved in this piece. I cant look away. I like to softness of the colors and the warmth. I like some of the small sections in that there are layers and layers of paint on a very small scale. I like that it is almost as much white as any other color
Julia Galoway- I like the mixing of line and blocks of color to create a representational image.
I like this piece by Shu-Ju Wang. I love the mix of materials, the layers,  and the sense of movement and the balance of color.
I like the archaic feel of this piece. It looks old and used. I want to combine text and realism in some way.
I like the transparency of line and texture in this piece. I love the color palette. I enjoy the natural colors mixed with the earth tones. I enjoy the balance in that there is no focal point necessarily and every part of this composition is really interesting to me.
I like the use of thick vertical line and texture in this Robert Kushner piece
I like this Robert Kushner piece as well. I love the incorporation of gold into the color pallette and I love how he used it to divide the picture plane in half. I like the use of thin and thick line as a means of texture.
I like this piece by Robert Kushner. I like the thin lines matched with undefined blocks of color. I like how parts of the image are off the frame
